Due to the UK leaving the European Union, changes have been made to the tuition fees that EU, EEA and Swiss nationals pay to study in the UK. This page contains information about the fee changes and our EU Scholarship.

Existing EU students continuing a course into 2024/25
If you're an eligible EU student assessed as a 'Home' or 'EU' fee-payer in the academic year 2024/25 or earlier, you’ll pay the same tuition fees as Home students throughout your course.
New EU students starting in 2025/26
Following the UK's exit from the European Union, EU, EEA or Swiss nationals starting a course at a UK University are no longer be eligible for UK (Home) fee status and will usually be charged international tuition fees.
However, at the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï we're offering an EU Scholarship that reduces your tuition fees. This scholarship has now been extended until the September 2028/29 intake (including January starts). The tuition fee discount will apply to both the main ºÚÁϳԹÏand London campuses.
Undergraduate (UG) Tuition Fees with EU Scholarship
You must be an EU, EEA or Swiss National who has lived in the EU/EEA/Switzerland for at least 3 years.

Postgraduate Taught (PGT) Tuition Fees with EU Scholarship
You must be an EU, EEA or Swiss National who has lived in the EU/EEA/Switzerland for at least 3 years.

If you are studying a part time course, the discount will be pro-rata based on the course duration.
What if I am part of the EU Settlement Scheme?
If you’ve been granted ‘settled’ status under the EU Settlement Scheme and have lived in the UK or Islands for at least 3 years, you may be eligible for Home fee status and financial support. Check the or Gov.uk EU student guidance for the latest details.
If you are eligible for Home fee status, you will not receive the EU Scholarship as you will already pay UK fees.
- The scholarship is only available to students starting in January 2025 and up to September 2028 and January 2029.
- You must be an EU, EEA or Swiss national and have been resident in the EU, EEA or Switzerland for a minimum of 3 years to be eligible for this scholarship. If you already meet the conditions to be classed as a UK student for tuition fees, you won't receive this scholarship.
- The scholarship is available to on-campus full-time and part-time students studying an undergraduate, postgraduate taught or postgraduate research degree.
- The scholarship is also available to students on a study abroad programme bringing tuition fees in line with UK students (£4,767 for one term, £9,535 for the full 2025/26 academic year). For the following academic intakes the tuition fees will be; £5,150 for one term, £10,300 for the full academic year 2026/27, £5,450 for one term, £10,900 for the full academic year 2027/28 and £5,150 for one term, £10,300 for the full academic year 2026/27, £5,450 for one term, £10,900 for the full academic year 2028/29.
- The scholarship will take the form of a tuition fee reduction, effective at the time of registration and applied for the length of your course.
- The scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarship, discount or fee offer, apart from the Alumni discount.
- The discounted fee will be stated on your Confirmation of Acceptance for Study (CAS). This is the final document you receive when you have an unconditional offer to study at the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï and have paid your deposit.
- The scholarship is available to part-time distance learning students studying a postgraduate research degree.
Tuition fee deposits
If you are an EU, EEA or Swiss national starting a course at a UK university, you will need to pay a tuition fee deposit unless you are confirmed as 'Home' fee status.
If you are a recipient of an educational loan from your government, this can meet the deposit requirement by emailing the evidence to feeenquiries@port.ac.uk.

Exemptions (including Republic of Ireland)
The changes in student fees and funding will not affect you if you’re an EU, EEA or Swiss national benefitting from Citizens’ Rights under the EU Withdrawal Agreement, EEA EFTA Separation Agreement or Swiss Citizens’ Rights Agreement respectively.
The changes will also not affect you if you're an Irish national living in the UK or Ireland. Your right to study and access benefits and services will be preserved on a reciprocal basis for UK and Irish nationals under the .
In general, you’ll continue to be required to meet the same criteria as UK nationals to be eligible for UK fees and funding.
