I aspire to make an impact in my country, Nigeria, through design. I am also interested in exploring the potential of spatial design as a creative tool in solving various social issues around us.
Having received my previous degrees – BA (Hons) Architecture and MA (Hons) Interior Design – from the ºÚÁϳԹÏ, this city became home to me.
My Master’s research project fuelled my passion to carry on further research on a wider scale. It was a no-brainer to stay in ºÚÁϳԹÏwhen I was deciding where to study my PhD.
Studying at ºÚÁϳԹÏhas enabled me to become more aware of my gifts and talents, and how to put them to use.

Finding balance as a PhD student
Being a PhD student has given me the opportunity to have a flexible schedule. During the day, if I’m not engrossed in study, you’ll find me at my part-time job as a student ambassador.
My evenings are usually filled with catching up with friends and family, and attending bible study meetings on and off campus. I often also cook in the evenings.

Growing as a person and a professional
I can’t talk about my growth without mentioning the ºÚÁϳԹÏ. I have had a wholesome educational experience as a student here.
The University has had a huge impact on most of my adult life. It has helped me become more independent, gain social skills and expand my network by meeting people from diverse backgrounds.
Studying at ºÚÁϳԹÏhas enabled me to become more aware of my gifts and talents, and how to put them to use. I have learned creative thinking, problem solving and design communication skills.
My next steps are to finish my PhD degree strong and well, as well as building my design skills. By God’s grace, I look forward to teaching at the University and also running a design consultancy.
