I wanted to apply for a PhD and have a high education level in my field. One of the reasons that made me choose the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï is that the University is the number one in the UK for boosting graduate salaries.
I love the practical side of my course where in almost each unit I do coursework, to develop more in-depth knowledge which can’t be obtained by lectures only. I was able to fully understand the basics of electronics, which boosted my confidence when discussing my course with professionals or future companies.
I am aiming for a first class degree, and to improve my soft and technical skills. At Portsmouth, I’ve learnt excellent teamwork skills, excellent practical skills and great theoretical knowledge.

One of the helpful things the University has is the drop-in sessions where I can talk to any teacher on a one-to-one basis. Special thanks to Dr Abdulkarim Tawfik - he helped me a lot when I first joined the University.
The Careers and Employability Service was the best source of information and help regarding many fields, such as part-time jobs, graduate jobs, how to write a professional CV and cover letter, mock interviews. Many events they organised helped me get a lot of important information that helped me get a part-time job and graduate job interviews.
I love climbing, and thanks to the University club I can go climbing weekly with other students, either indoors or outdoors, plus a lot of socials to relax after a long day of studies.
If you want to have a very strong knowledge practically or theoretically in the field you want to study, and be part of a social or sport club, ºÚÁϳԹÏis the right answer.
