The ϳԹ student radio station PureFM has received silver at the 2023 Student Radio Awards.
Students from went up to London to attend the awards ceremony where they received Silver in the best multi-platform initiative category, for their work with the South Regions stations on the Round the Clock Radio Challenge: The big music quiz.
celebrate and recognise the achievement and talent in the student radio and audio community. Judged by nearly 200 industry-appointed judges, hundreds of student entries, spanning over a dozen categories, were whittled down to bronze, silver and gold winners.
Producing a successful live show for charity during ongoing repair works, championed entirely by our students, is a testament to the determination when young people put their minds together, work as a team and develop solutions. This is only the beginning for Pure FM, watch this space.

Charlotte Lord, President of PureFM, said: "I am so thrilled for Pure FM's silver award alongside our fellow south region stations! It is so rewarding seeing Pure finally get recognised following severe flooding and damages to our studio over the last two years.

PureFM, is a purely student-led radio station providing a real-life radio experience to all ϳԹ students. They provide an open media outlet for students to produce, collaborate and broadcast their shows and ideas through radio and podcasting, while offering a range of skills to learn and events to work.
Samuel Aries, Vice President of PureFM, said: “Going from having my head under the studio desk last year after the studio being flooded, to producing a live 24hr event in collaboration with other stations in the south and receiving a silver award for best multi-platform initiative, is a full circle moment.
“Being recognised at such a big event for the team's hard work means a lot. We are continuing to develop and upgrade our facilities and hope to produce and make some amazing content this year to come back bigger and better for the next SRA awards.”
