The showcase celebrates the outstanding work of final-year students from the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries, making it one of the largest degree shows in the UK.

The Graduate Showcase 2023 will offer a broad range of creative creations from the schools of ArchitectureArt, Design and Performance; Creative Technologies; and Film, Media and Communications. The Centre for Creative and Immersive Extended Reality (CCIXR) will also be included in the showcase.

One of many things that will be on show is the fashion collection line ‘Plashionate’ by final-year Fashion and Textiles student Amy Barnes. ‘Plashionate’ is a bold and innovative fashion collection that challenges common perceptions of plastic waste and presents it as a valuable resource. Throughout the collection, Amy demonstrates the beauty and versatility of upcycling and recycling plastic materials, by sourcing and processing a wide range of plastic waste, from shopping bags to crisp packets and cereal box liners. ‘Plashionate’ demonstrates a new vision for the future of fashion, one that embraces sustainability and the potential of plastic as a material. Saving the planet, one piece of plastic at a time
