Biography

I graduated with a Masters Degree in Television Production from Bournemouth University in 2004 having previously achieved a 1st Class Honours Degree in Drama and Theatre Studies from Royal Holloway University of London. I went on to work as a freelance editor and filmmaker before moving in to the Further Education sector and then into Higher Education. 

Professionally I have worked as an editor and cinematographer on a number of filmmaking projects that have been screened both in the UK and internationally, achieving awards at KinoLevchyk (Ukraine) and MADATAC (Spain).  I continue to collaborate with a number of artists, filmmakers, musicians and performers on a range of film-based projects alongside writing a collection of short stories and a fictional blog based on the world of Sherlock Holmes.

Since joining the University I have become a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and prevously achieved the Diploma in Teaching and Training in the Lifelong Learning Sector while working in Further Education.  I also have Professional instructor Certification for Avid Media Composer and have achieved a number of Adobe ACA certifications for software including Premiere Pro and Photoshop.  In 2020 I undertook training on the Baselight One colour grading system with our industry partners, Filmlight and am proficient in a range of other post-production software solutions.

Research interests

In 2018 I was co-lead on the development of a 'Train the Trainer' toolkit alongside Rebecca Bellinger for the Lagos State Creative Education Skills Partnership.  This partnership was developed to support the professionalization of the Nigerian film industry through the a curriculum toolkit which was launched at AFRIFF 2018, and short specialised training course, delivered in partnership between the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï (UoP) and Lagos State University (LASU).
