Biography

I trained as a Diagnostic Radiographer at the University of Exeter. My clinical career started at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton and I later moved to Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, where I specialised in CT and MRI. During this time, I undertook postgraduate units in Forensic Radiography, Paediatric Imaging and Research Theory and Practice at Birmingham City University.

I joined the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï in 2011 as a lecturer and progressed to Senior Lecturer in 2013. The same year, I completed my Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education through the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï and became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

In 2013-14, I undertook postgraduate units in ‘Imaging in Medicine’ and ‘Further Materials in Medical Physics’ through the Open University.

In October 2015, I was appointed External Promotion and Liaison Lead for the School of Health Sciences and Social Work. My key responsibilities included student recruitment, outreach and public engagement, marketing, global engagement, timetable coordination, induction coordination, alumni relations, and employability across all courses within the School.

In March 2020 I became the interim Associate Dean (Students) for the Faculty of Science and Health and was appointed Associate Dean (Students) in January 2021. My main responsibility is overseeing the quality of student experience across the faculty.

My current role enables me to shape the strategic direction of the Faculty of Science and Health through membership in several University-level committees, including the Student Experience Committee and the Marketing, Recruitment, and Admissions Committee.

I am enrolled on the Professional Doctorate in Education (EdD) and am interested in the barriers to neurodivergent students accessing support in HE.

I am also the co-chair of the Staff Neurodiversity Network.
