ºÚÁϳԹÏSchool of Law
The rule of law and access to justice are central to a functioning society. In the School of Law we're passionate about the role the legal system plays in upholding these principles.
Our students develop the skills and qualifications they need to make a positive impact in the legal profession and society. Our exceptional teaching balances practical learning, industry experience and academic rigour to produce graduates with the knowledge and expertise to succeed as legal professionals.
Teaching
Our lecturers are experts in their field and many have experience in the legal profession. Our teaching combines theoretical and practical study - so our students graduate with the relevant knowledge, skills and experience required to enter the industry.
Students can work with organisations like ºÚÁϳԹÏMediation and the British Red Cross in our Clinical Legal Education module.
They also gain practical experience through our Legal Advice Clinic. Under the guidance of qualified solicitors and experienced tutors, students offer legal advice to the public on civil and welfare matters including consumer issues, employment law and housing problems.
Students may practice and build their legal skills in our mock court room - a replica of a Crown Court - which helps build their confidence in public speaking. It also allows them to experience mooting and advocacy.
Through the Student Union's Law Society, students can also learn from mentors and become part of the campus law community.
